Hatha yoga emphasizes postures and breathing techniques that have traditionally been used to channel life force or prana. The term "Hatha" refers to the balance or harmony of the body, mind, and breath. This practice is generally performed at a slower pace and involves more static holds compared to faster flow classes, with each movement synchronized to the breath. It promotes
a sense of grounding and calmness while encouraging mindful observation.
Focusing on two main methods;
1. The Joint-Freeing Series, based on structural yoga therapy by master yoga therapist Mukunda Stiles. This simple and highly effective approach relieves joint pain and stiffness, improves mobility, increases circulation, and promotes vitality.
2. An effective yoga sequence for bone health developed by Dr Loren Fishman, a world-recognized pioneer in medicine and rehabilitation. This sequence is designed to improve bone mineral density and quality, focusing on poses that provide safe, impact-based stimulation for the spine, hips, and femurs, while avoiding forward flexion, which can increase fracture risk.
A healing, slow-paced Hatha yoga class with a strong focus on joint mobility and bone health. Strengthen bones, improve joint health, increase circulation, and enhance mobility with a class suitable for all, regardless of experience level. This class includes a mix of floor-based postures and standing postures. A great class for those with joint inflammation, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and certain spine pathologies.
Whether you are a novice or experienced yogi, this class welcomes practitioners at all stages of their journey. Modifications and variations of postures will be given; however, this class might not be suitable if weight-bearing postures aren't possible for you. Please discuss any limitations, chronic pain, or injuries with me.
